PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY

Mr. Moretti has over 5 years of experience in progressive technician to project manager responsibilities.  Mr. Moretti has  performed project management for numerous construction projects involving geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing throughout western North Carolina, particularly in the region’s mountainous terrain.

Mr. Moretti’s experience and responsibilities include project cost estimating, proposal preparation, scheduling, client coordination, supervision of field and laboratory technicians and drillers. His geotechnical engineering design experience includes standard penetration, laboratory assignment and testing on geotechnical soil and rock samples, data evaluation, earth pressure calculations, shallow foundation systems for single and multi-story buildings, settlement estimates for shallow foundations as well as groundwater remediation and french drain implementation.

Mr. Moretti has evaluated the stability of native soil and rock slopes including fill and cut slope conditions for building pads and roadways. The evaluation has included visual observations, field exploration, laboratory testing, slope stability analysis and recommendations for re-construction or repair, if determined necessary. The recommendations for repair of slopes typically include flattening the slope, reinforcing the slope with soil nails, TECCO mesh or geogrids as a reconstructed slope or wall. Mr. Moretti has also prepared slope and retaining wall design plans and specifications for MSE segmental block walls, geogrid reinforced soil slopes, boulder retaining walls, gabion basket walls, welded wire mesh walls and precast modular block walls for final approval by a licensed Professional Engineer.

Mr. Moretti’s construction materials testing experience includes quality control testing and inspection during construction of commercial and residential projects. This experience includes testing, inspection and monitoring of proof-roll operation, undercutting activities, geotextile and geogrid placement inspection, density control of fill, utility backfill, shallow foundations, reinforcing steel, and concrete placement as well as performance of Schmidt Hammer testing to evaluate concrete surface hardness and penetration resistance. Mr. Moretti also has experience in bolt torque testing and performance of vapor emission testing for determining the moisture acceptability for the placement of floor coverings and coatings over concrete slab surfaces.

His experience involves the evaluation of pavement conditions of roadways to include visual pavement distress surveys, density and thickness measurements of the asphalt or concrete surface, density and thickness measurements of the aggregate base course, relative density or consistency of the subgrade soils, drainage concerns and comparison of actual pavement conditions versus the plans and specifications. The evaluation has included oversight of re-construction of new pavements, overlays and repairs.
